Adaptive Technology Sequence

Sequence Course Course Description
1 ACSK010 Keyboarding  Provides Keyboarding basics to students with disabilities. Incorporates adaptive technologies into the context of computer tutorials.
2 ACSK1104 Adapted Studies  Presents curricula and instruction, not available in other courses in a lecture format, to meet identified special learning needs of disabled students.
3 ACSK 119 Intro to Computers An introduction to computers designed for students with disabilities.
4 ACSK 122 Internet  An introduction to the internet designed for students with disabilities.
5 ACSK 93E Scanning Presents an introduction to the scanning process for students with disabilities.
6 ACSK 125 Word Processing Introduces the use of microcomputer access technologies for students with physical or learning disabilities within the context of word processing.
7 ACSK 131 Applications Presents the use of access technologies for disabled students within the context of word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.

These classes are specifically designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Each class allows the student to have hands on practice using up-to-date technology and a variety of learning modalities. 

Students will receive individual help and instruction customized towards their specific disability and learning style. Students who have anxiety about technology are also encouraged to learn in this non-stressful environment.
