Adaptive Furniture

DSPS arranges for Adaptive Furniture, including adaptive electronic tables, padded or adjustable chairs for large students, and small desks or tables, to accommodate classroom seating or desk arrangements. Adaptive Furniture use must be authorized by a DSPS Specialist.

Procedure

All services are requested at the DSPS Support Services Reception Desk by filling out a request form for each service.

1. A DSPS Specialist or Counselor verifies the disability, determines the need, and authorizes adapted furniture.
2. The student fills out the Adaptive Furniture Request Form and turns it in at the DSPS Support Services Reception Desk.

The Adaptive Furniture Request Form may be picked up at the Support Services Desk at the SLO or NCC DSPS Offices.
