Reports from Professionals and Agencies
from Outside the California Community College System

DSPS accepts assessment reports and test scores from private professionals for determination for eligibility for academic accommodations.

After DSPS receives and reviews a copy of the report, the student will receive a reply from a DSPS Specialist regarding eligibility for services.

Qualified professionals should administer standardized tests used for determining whether a learning disability exists. The final report should include standard scores and a narrative that describes

  • a developmental history of the student
  • the student's level of intellectual functioning
  • cognitive/information processing strengths and weaknesses
  • academic achievement strengths and weaknesses
  • the existence (or not) of information processing discrepancies
  • the existence (or not) of aptitude/achievement discrepancies
  • the student’s Social Security Number, birth date, home mailing address, and home phone number.
  • any other pertinent academic, psychological, or medical assessment information that might help us plan appropriate programs and services

The report should state whether the student has a learning disability or not, and if so, in which areas.
