Priority Registration

DSPS offers early, or "priority" registration to students with verified disabilities.

General Information

DSPS students who wish to register through priority registration will be required to do so over the web. Cuesta’s web site address is: www.cuesta.edu/apply

1. You must have a current Student Education Contract (SEC) on file with DSPS.

2. Meet with your DSPS specialist and/or counselor to discuss your courses.

  • Meet with your specialist if you will be enrolling in a learning skills course.
  • Meet with a counselor if you will be enrolling in courses for an AA/AS, a certificate, or transfer.

3. Plan your course schedule.

4. Check your registration status, available online.

  • Visit “PAWs” to find out if you owe any fines, loans, or have any holds that will stop you from registering.
  • If any holds appear, you must clear them at least 24 hours before you register.
  • Priority Registration code for DSPS is “Priority 5.”

State Department of Rehabilitation or private rehabilitation clients:

Notify your rehabilitation counselor of your intent to attend the next semester. Request that funding or funding authorization be sent to the Cuesta cashiers office.

The DSPS secretary has the forms that need to be completed for State Department of Rehabilitation.

Financial Aid Students

  • Check with the Financial Aid office to make sure that everything is complete.
  • Be sure they have a copy of your current Student Educational Plan.
  • If you have not completed an SEP make an appointment with a counselor to have one done.
  • BOGW recipients need to complete a new application for each year.
  • SSI recipients can obtain a Statement of Benefits by calling 1-800-772-1213.
